Purposive, controlled re-moisturising

A major problem arises in heatset drying of commercial web offset printing. The hot air, whilst having the desired effect of drying the heatset inks, also removes a large proportion of the moisture from the web, resulting in handling problems,quality loss and reduced productivity. Static build-up in the folder, brittle paper, leading to fold cracking and difficulties with bound products are just some of the problems.
