Functions and characteristics of the Viskomat
• The initial viscosity of the coating is automatically set to processing viscosity by the addition of water
• Wide adjustable viscosity range thanks to two sensor measuring ranges of 10s to 90s and/or 80s to 140s. Changes to the setting within the limits of dilutability as stated by the coating manufacturer may be made during production
• Viscosity of the circulating dispersion coating is constantly measured
• Controlled addition of thinner to maintain the viscosity
• Since the viscosity of a liquid medium is also a function of temperature, an integrated cooling and heating unit ensures a constant coating temperature (adjustable temperature range: 10°C to 35°C)
• Controlled metering of fresh coating to the coating circulation with integrated coating consumption measuring device
• The coating in the return flow is permanently filtered
• Coating lines and the coating pan are rinsed automatically in the case of stoppages and/or at the end of coating
• The water for automatic cleaning is re-used for viscosity control which means less waste water and – provided the coatings are of the same type – no need to dispose of residual coating
• Programs for replacement of containers and cleaning for a fully automatic cleaning of coating unit and Viskomat
