Baldwin will guarantee for the material comatibility of the cleaning system only when one of our operating supplies that has been approved / recommended by Baldwin is used.

Baldwin Germany GmbH supports the industry initiative for a reduction of solvent emission in offset printing set up by the BG Druck- und Papierverarbeitung (Wiesbaden) (Printing Trades Association).

The precondition for a use of solvents in automatic roller cleaning systems is that the test criteria as per the approval procedure  (Download here pdf Approval Procedure) by BALDWIN are met.

Subsequently, the solvent will be certified by BALDWIN / FOGRA. A test certificate will confirm the use as well as the material compatibility of the solvent.

Certification of a cleaning agent does not cause any liability of Baldwin with a view to the cleaning power or the cleaning result of the certified cleaning agent. 

BALDWIN will not assume any liability with a view to side effects of the solvents that will cause damage to the printing plates, the blanket or other press components.

The solvent manufacturer is liable for the constant formulation of the tested solvents.

It must be taken into account that a solvent may only be used on BALDWIN cleaning systems when the press manufacturer, too, has issued a corresponding  release for the solvent to be used.

Using a solvent not tested by BALDWIN may adversely affect the wash results and may cause damage to the pad as well as to seals in the pneumatic system.
