Baldwin Technology Company, Inc. has successfully completed fiscal year of 2004. Sales have increased by 18% from 2003, demonstrating a strong and profitable performance. Baldwin’s main focus will be on further developing the products and services, which meet the needs of its customers.

Shaun Kilfoyle, vice president of Baldwin Americas at Baldwin Technology Company comments: “A key driver for our future activities is to anticipate the emerging needs of printers and meet these needs with the new innovative technologies, products and services that will make a difference in their businesses. For example we will introduce IMPACT®flex Automatic Blanket Cleaning System at Graph Expo 2004. IMPACT®flex combines high-strength, light weight cartridge technology, which makes IMPACT®flex ideally suited for new high speed wide-web applications. We have factored in the flexibility to operate with either dry cloth and solvent or our patented PREPAC cleaning consumable. We will also introduce PREPAC P3 technology, which is the first and only cleaning consumable that will allow a printer to clean UV, Hybrid and conventional inks from tension-back blankets with a single chemistry and P3 rolls do not require the use of additional water spray bars to insure effective cleaning of lint, chalk and coating build-up.

The past year showed a renewed focus on our Customers and a strategic commitment to focus our core technologies. This has been the correct strategy for Baldwin as can be seen by our positive financial performance in fiscal year 2004. During 2004 the Company implemented a restructuring according to geographic regions (Americas, Europe and Asia/Pacific) and continued efforts to streamline operations and maximize market presence. These initiatives are showing good progress, which is reflected by a positive start in the new fiscal year.”

In the year ahead Baldwin will continue to invest to develop new technologies and products within its core competencies, of automatic cleaning, spray dampening and fluid and temperature control technologies and will further develop its presence in key geographic markets to build on its position as the leading manufacturer of performance-and quality-enhancing press accessory and control equipment.

Mr Kilfoyle concludes: “Baldwin employees can be proud of Baldwin’s achievements over the past year.. Our company history goes back to 1918 and we have always been motivated to bring new developments to the market that printers and printing press manufacturers have come to respect as making a significant contribution to increasing the productivity and competitiveness of print. I am looking forward to the challenges ahead as we continuously strive to meet market needs. We have a strong, motivated team of people with both deep industry knowledge and technical expertise, which will enable us to take full advantage of future growth opportunities.”
